How to use HG grout cleaner?

For effectively cleaning dirty grout, HG offers a range of solutions specially developed to remove stubborn dirt, limescale deposits and mould from grout. Our products are powerful and effective, but for the best results it is important to follow the instructions carefully, use the correct amount of product and rinse thoroughly with water afterwards. Always check the tile manufacturer's maintenance instructions beforehand to ensure the grout cleaner is suitable for your type of grout and tiles.

HG solutions for cleaning grout

HG has developed several products specifically for cleaning grout:

• HG grout cleaner is a ready-to-use solution for effectively removing dirt from grout. Spray the product onto the grout, leave it to work for a few minutes, brush the grout clean and remove the loosened dirt with lukewarm water.
• For more intensive cleaning, HG grout cleaner concentrate can be used. Dilute the concentrate with water according to the instructions, apply with a brush, leave it to work for a short time, scrub thoroughly and rinse well with water.
• With HG power gel brush grout cleaner, you can treat grout lines directly thanks to the strongly adhesive gel and integrated brush. Apply the gel, leave it to work for approximately 30 minutes, remove with a damp cloth and rinse thoroughly.

For specific grout problems, there are also targeted HG solutions available. Use HG limescale remover concentrate (1L) to remove yellow or brown limescale deposits, and choose HG mould remover foam spray for grout that has become black due to mould. Solutions for cleaning grout without HG products

Whilst we recommend using specially developed HG grout cleaners, there are also some household alternatives you can try. However, these methods are generally less effective and may not be suitable for all grout types. Always test first on an inconspicuous area.

• Mix equal parts water and white vinegar and apply this to the grout using a spray bottle. Leave it to work briefly, scrub with a brush and rinse thoroughly with clean water.
• A paste of hydrogen peroxide and a mild abrasive such as baking soda can also be used. Apply the paste, leave it to work briefly, scrub thoroughly and rinse with water.

Bear in mind that these alternatives do not always provide the same results as specialist products and may cause damage if used incorrectly.
