  1. Use a knife to cut away the sealant as closely as possible to the surface.
  2. Carefully cover the sealant that must not be removed with tape.

   4. Clean spirit or nail-polish remover
Pour nail-polish remover or clean spirit on a scouring pad and use it to soak off the silicone sealant. Leave it to absorb and try to loosen the sealant. Use a knife if required.

Unfortunately, the effectiveness of a glass scraper, Stanley knife, vegetable oil, cleaning spirit or nail-polish remover is not guaranteed, and in the end it's not what they were intended for.

You will often still need a special knife or HG silicon seal remover to remove the sealant edges completely.
