Solutions for removing grout haze
If you want to remove grout haze without using professional products, there are a few practical measures you can try. Please note that these methods are not always equally effective and may carry certain risks. Always test first on a small, inconspicuous area. Wait at least 24 hours after grouting before you begin. Here are some options:
- Soak fresh grout haze as quickly as possible with plenty of clean water and remove it gently with a soft sponge or cloth. The sooner you act, the easier the cement will come off.
- Use a soft brush and lukewarm water to gently scrub loose cement residue from the tile surface before it hardens further. Then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Use a plastic or wooden scraper to gently loosen hardened cement residue from the tile surface without causing scratches. Work with light pressure and take care.
While these measures can help with fresh grout haze, they offer no guarantee for stubborn residue. If you are unsure or the results are unsatisfactory, we recommend using HG tile cement grout and mortar remover, which is specially developed for removing grout haze and mortar residue.

Always check the maintenance instructions from the manufacturer beforehand to ensure proper application and timing.
