Always take care and test first on an inconspicuous area. Always check the manufacturer's maintenance instructions beforehand.

HG solutions for shiny tiles

To restore the shine to your tiles, we offer the following effective solution:

  • For porous and non-porous floor tiles, slabs and non-calcareous natural stone, HG tile cleaner shine restorer is the ideal choice. This pleasantly fragranced, concentrated mopping cleaner with shine restoration is specially developed for regular cleaning of tile floors. The product also deepens the colour and texture of your tiles. Dilute 50 ml, half a cup, in half a bucket, 5 litres, of lukewarm water, mop the floor with a well-wrung mop and rinse it regularly in the solution. Do not rinse afterwards or re-mop — let the floor dry naturally. Two litres is enough for up to 40 mopping sessions.

Solutions for shiny tiles

If you are looking for ways to restore shine to your tiles without professional products, here are some suggestions that may help. Please note that these solutions do not always give the desired results and may involve risks:

  • Use a well-wrung damp microfibre cloth to clean your tiles regularly. Microfibres are effective at removing dirt and grease without damaging the tile surface.
  • Use a solution of warm water and mild washing-up liquid to clean the tiles. Be sure to rinse thoroughly to remove soap residue, which can otherwise leave a dull film.
  • Dry the tiles after cleaning with a clean, dry microfibre cloth. This prevents water marks and gives your tiles a better shine.

While these methods can help restore the shine to your tiles, it is important to be careful. Always test first on a small, inconspicuous area before applying your chosen method to larger surfaces. If in doubt, or for the best shine restoration, we recommend choosing HG tile cleaner shine restorer, which is specially developed for tile floors.

Causes of dull tiles

There are several reasons why your tiles may lose their shine and look dull. Here are the main causes:

  • Build-up of dirt, dust and grease: Over time, these can accumulate on the tiles, causing them to lose their shine.
  • Using the wrong cleaning products: Some cleaners can be too harsh or leave a haze on your tiles.
  • Wear and tear: Heavy use and regular foot traffic can damage the top layer of your tiles, making them dull.
  • Limescale deposits: In areas with hard water, limescale can build up on tiles, resulting in a dull appearance.

To prevent these problems in future, it is important to clean your tiles regularly with the right products. Choose pH-neutral cleaners specifically suitable for your type of tiles. You can also consider applying a protective coating to make your tiles more resistant to dirt and wear. Regular maintenance with appropriate products will help maintain the shine and appearance of your tiles for years to come.
